Ontario Accessible Recreation and Sport (OARS) is dedicated to breaking down barriers in sport and recreation. We work to help individuals navigate adapted and accessible sport/rec programs and community-driven initiatives designed for people of all ages and abilities.
From trail access to water sports, playgrounds to gyms, we partner with local organizations, municipalities, and service providers to reimagine what’s possible, ensuring everyone can participate, connect, and thrive.
Our mission is simple: to create a hub where individuals can find accessible sport and recreation in Ontario that is welcoming and empowering, because play belongs to everyone and health and wellness should be attainable for all.
Disability-Led. Community-Focused. Recreation Reimagined.
OARSCAN is a proudly disability-owned Ontario non-profit advancing equitable access to health and wellness through leisure, sport, and play. Everyone deserves the right to move, connect, and thrive, regardless of ability. Our work centres around lived experience, breaking down systemic barriers to recreation by creating adaptive, inclusive opportunities across the province. Whether on the water, on the trail, or in the heart of a neighbourhood park, OARSCAN supports spaces and programming where everyone belongs.
At OARSCAN, we’re always planning what’s next in inclusive recreation. From adaptive sport clinics to accessible outdoor adventures, our 2026 programming is in the works; and we can’t wait to share it with you!
